Are Tezza yogurts Kosher? Halal? Vegan? Gluten-Free? Non-Gmo? Organic?
Short answer: No, no, kind of, kind of, yes, kind of.
Vegan: There are no animal ingredients in our yogurts—just plants. The cultures we use are not grown on any animal ingredients. We never have and never will test on animals. But we have not pursued a third-party vegan certification because of time and money.
Gluten-free: There is no gluten in our ingredients. The facility that makes our yogurt does not process any gluten. However, it has not been certified by a third party as a gluten-free facility.
Organic: Our soybeans are certified organic, while our other ingredients are certified non-gmo but not organic.
Why does Tezza use soymilk?
We make our products from whole, non-gmo, organic soybeans because they are one of the tastiest and most sustainable sources of nutrition on earth. There’s a reason whole soy foods were one of the original hippie foods.
From a nutritional standpoint, soybeans can achieve nutritional parity with dairy, given its PDCAAS of 1 and high ratios of protein to fat and carbs. That means we can make whole soy products that naturally have great macros, a clean label, and never any protein isolates.
